VOCATIONAL COLLEGE | MID-SIZE INSTITUTION | BASED IN TEXAS, USA

​POSITION DUTIES:

  • Assist Subject Matter Experts with developing content through editing.

  • Create original content on many subjects with little SME support

  • Develop content to meet course objectives and regulatory expectations based on limited factual information or highly academic language provided by Subject Matter Experts.

  • Regularly attend online web meetings.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in English, Writing, or a related field.

  • Three years of professional experience in creative writing, technical writing, or editing.

  • Strong writing skills, particularly with a creative tilt using casual professional language.

  • Strong research skills.

  • Strong editing skills, particularly creative non-fiction and non-fiction.

  • Strong personal management skills.

  • Ability to communicate well both written and verbally.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. No sponsorship given.

K-12 Curriculum Writer

Part-time, Flexible Schedule (Must meet deadlines).

W-9 Form required, Freelance Work

$200-400 per assignment

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLISHING COMPANY

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Copy edit course content including core course instruction, assessments, multimedia, and/or practice games.

  • Use K12 authoring tools and processes as well as adhere to the instructional design guidelines set forth by the K12 team.

  • Accept and incorporate feedback to produce the strongest end product.

  • Provide accurate updates to project management regarding project status.

  • Communicate availability and strive to maintain a consistent time commitment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong technical skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Proven experience in editing and publishing, preferably in education.

  • Confidently use the Microsoft Suite and navigate workflow management tools.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and project handoffs throughout the week..

  • Minimum availability of 25-30 hours/week.

1-2 writing/editing samples will be requested if we responds to your application.
