We are currently seeking a contract Technical Writer to join the Upland Qvidian and Upland RO Innovation team in Boston, MA, Cincinnati, OH, or remote (U.S. or Canada) for the right candidate.
This team member will be responsible for the creation, management, and delivery of all Qvidian and RO Innovation client-facing technical documentation and serves as the primary point of contact for all Documentation questions and communication.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of technical writing experience and the ability to build relationships and work effectively at all levels of an organization. The contract runs through Dec. 31st with the possibility of extension.
Write, edit, manage, and deliver the Qvidian and RO Innovation Help Centers, PDF guides, Quick Reference cards, and Resolved Issues documents.
Work closely with Training, Product Management, and Development to learn the products and gather information on new features and updates.
Act as the primary point of contact for documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
Work with the Upland Documentation Manager to ensure Qvidian and RO Innovation documentation meets Upland documentation standards.
Use analytics and user feedback to evaluate success of documentation and to recommend best practices and documentation strategies.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in writing software-based product documentation
Understanding and knowledge of Madcap Flare, or other single-source authoring systems
Working knowledge of CSS, HTML and XML
Familiarity with Microsoft Manual of Style and technical writing standards
4-year degree, BA or BS Degree or a combination of education plus equivalent work experience preferably with a credentials in writing (Communications, English, Media etc.)
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing
Demonstrates strong interest to learn and the initiative to self-teach
Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team
Excellent flexibility and change management skills
Qvidian product experience and/or general experience working with RFPs and proposalsJiraGit & BitbucketExperience working in an Agile environment
Knowledge and skill with media tools (video, audio and outlets for various media)Graphic design and editing experience
