My mom, a native Polish speaker, recently passed away. I found a box of documents that I would like to have transcribed and translated. The documents are mostly letters from my Babcia to my mom. They are in Polish. I would like to scan the documents, send them to you electronically, and have you type up the Polish text for each letter, and then translate.
I would like to start with just a few letters, to make sure the quality of the scans is workable, the handwriting can be deciphered, and get a sense of how long it will take to do a few letters.
Please let me know your background/level of skill in each language, and if you've worked on translations or anything like this before. Because these are for sentimental value rather than business or legal purposes, I don't think prior experience doing this professionally is necessary, this could be a good gig for a bilingual student or someone looking to make a little post-holiday cash. When replying, please let me know whether you're a native Polish speaker, and if not, how you acquired the skill. I have rudimentary Polish skills, so am looking for someone who can do more than Google Translate.
