Do you love to write almost as much as you love to manage veterinary cases? Are you as strict about sentence structure as you are treatment protocol?
If you’re a practicing veterinarian who has experience in and passion for writing educational resources for your clients and peers, we’d like to talk to you.
Brief Media, producers of Clinician’s Brief and Plumb’s Veterinary Drugs, seeks a veterinarian who is able to write educational materials for a variety of audiences with differing levels of comprehension.
Assignments may include materials directed toward pet owners, materials developed in partnership with sponsors for veterinary general practitioners, or materials developed for continuing education.
Assignment volume may fluctuate, but we are interested in someone who could be available upward of 10 hours per week. (We understand how demanding the GP life can be; ideally, this candidate is practicing no more than 3-4 days per week.)

Creates effective communication for pet owners, engaging a practical veterinary perspective
Works in varying levels of assignment volume; assignment demands may be intense one month but light in the next

Writes engaging copy that strikes perfect chords for veterinarians and marketing teams, balancing client needs with audience expectations
Communicates effectively and frequently with the content team at Brief Media
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
DVM or VMD from accredited institution
3+ years of professional writing experience within the veterinary community or directed to pet owner audiences (preferred but not required)
Demonstrated ability to write a variety of materials
Current or recent (within the last year) experience in clinical practice (general practice, emergency, or specialty setting) where client communication was a regular part of your job duties
