Tour Announcements, Music, Live Events: Seeking a freelance writer for SeatGeek's live events blog, TBA. Besides having a good grasp on pop culture (mostly music, some theater, and a familiarity with the secondary ticket industry), the most important quality this writer must possess is the ability to turn articles around in a timely fashion.
The majority of this work will be writing up tour announcement posts which need to be completed within a six hour window (although a seasoned writer will probably get it done much more quickly than that), assigned at random throughout the work week within the hours of 10-5.
The volume of said assignments will vary based on the amount of tours being announced in any given time, but expect a minimum of three articles per week (although ideally this freelancer will be able to handle a higher volume than that).
In addition to tour announcement posts, this writer will also have the opportunity to write festival/concert/venue guides, ticket-buying how-to's, creative listicles, and can pitch anything that he or she thinks would make sense for the blog, i.e. anything related to live events and/or the secondary ticket industry.
Payment for the articles works as follows (you will be paid on a monthly basis):
-Standard tour announcement posts = $50 per article
-Listicles / fun features ("Best K-Pop Acts Touring Right Now," "Hottest Tours of 2019" etc.) = $50 per article
-Venue / Concert / Festival guides = $75 per article
-Ticket-buying guides ("How to Save Money on Hamilton Tickets," "How to Get Coachella Tickets on the Secondary Market" etc.) = $75 per article
-Available during the day, M-F / 10-5, to take on time-sensitive tour announcement articles and complete them within 6 hours (of course time can be taken off as long as you give the editor a few days notice)
-Comfortable writing drafts in WordPress
-General knowledge of popular music and theater
