Join our innovative, friendly writing team, working on cloud-based systems for project-based businesses. As a remote Lead Tech Writer, you will work with an international development team to create customer-facing content using leading edge documentation tools.
You will work directly with subject matter experts to drive the development of end-user content including online help, user guides, training aids, and other technical documentation.
You will also help improve processes for content development and delivery, and work to ensure consistency and standardization across all materials.
The ideal candidate is an independent and curious self-starter with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical content, drive complex documentation projects, collaborate with technologists, and quickly grasp new technical concepts with enthusiasm.
This is a remote position that requires at least 30 hours of dedicated work hours, Monday through Friday (EST). Salary compensation will be discussed and negotiated for the right candidate, starting at $30K annually. Candidate MUST be eligible to work in the US.
Assumes responsibility, with minimal supervision, for all aspects of documentation projects, including planning, researching, scheduling, and writing both online help and print documentation. Produces documentation that is thorough, accurate, and clearly written.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or a related area of study.
A minimum of 2-3 years in a technical writing role, producing end-user content for complex application software.
Knowledge & Skills
Excellent writing skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts and processes to a non-technical audience.
Experience working directly with software engineers and other technical subject matter experts.
Advanced knowledge of English grammar and composition, as well as facility with technical writing best practices.
Excellent writing samples demonstrating ability to write conceptual, reference, and procedural content.
Ability to thrive on a large team in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Most Desirable Candidate Will Possess:
Professional experience using online help authoring tools, such XML or other content management system, such as DITA.
Planning, scheduling, and research skills.
Experience working with international teams.
Experience working remotely for over 2 years.
