Are you passionate about Seattle music? Do you love dream pop, shoegaze, or psychedelic rock? Do you enjoy writing?
Look Up Records is now seeking writers to contribute song & album reviews of artists involved in Look Up Fest, a paranormal mini music festival happening on 9/9 in Georgetown, Seattle.
The Look Up Fest lineup is comprised of some big local names as well as emerging local talent: Hibou, Whitney Ballen, Close Encounter, Sleeping Lessons, Shimmertraps, Sea Salt, and SWYM. Our goal is to create feature pieces for each artist that highlight/review their latest releases. We will be publishing them prior to the event, so we need someone to work quickly.
While we can't offer compensation at this time, this could be a great opportunity to participate in the local music community as well as build a writing portfolio. This gig is an ideal fit for aspiring freelance writers, local musicians, or people who simply love listening to and talking about music.
A little background in musical theory, a knowledge of local bands, musicians, and indie music trends will help you; as will the ability to use language creatively to describe sound. (And WiFi!).
You'll be working directly with an experienced professional copyeditor and digital marketer. All work will be done remotely, but we're happy meet up in person if you'd like to meet.
In addition to song/album reviews, we're very open to featuring local live show reviews and photogs. While we can't offer compensation at this time, we can attempt to guest list you for shows if we have friends involved.
If you're interested, please respond by telling us why. Add a little bit about yourself, and include any links to some published writing (if you have any).
