Description
Responsibilities:
- Research, plan, guide and develop content while assigning projects to freelance writers;
- Ensure content is error-free and relevant;
- Evaluate, hire, and manage freelance writers who have great technology and science experience/knowledge;
- Prioritize and work remotely on various assignments (meeting deadlines and communicating changes swiftly).
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of Editorial or Editorial Management experience;
- At least 3 years of Team Management experience directly related to remote workers;
- One work reference must be provided, related to previous/current Editor roles;
- Must be available for an online interview, if selected;
- Strong writing and editing skills with outstanding grammar in both US and UK English;
- Strong focus (and profound experience) in creating educational content that can improve our platform and user experience for our technology and science readers;
- Proactive research skills for internal and external database queries, including internet research;
- Motivated and committed to overcoming challenges surrounding deadline, freelance writer management, and other schedule solutions;
- High personal standards for excellence, a focus for quality and detail, strong organizational skills, and reliability.
Compensation/Benefits
- $25 per hour (US)
- 30 hours weekly
- Independent Contract position with a 3-month, non-negotiable contract
- Opportunity to renew or extend contract with higher compensation available after 3 months
